Email monitor showing 401 Unauthorized, auth_error badge will not clear

Email monitoring was working fine for about 10 days. Today I see the badge turn red with 'auth_error' and checking the logs shows 401 Unauthorized from Gmail API. Clicking Reconnect prompts OAuth and 'succeeds' but the badge goes back to red within a minute.

Two likely causes:

  1. Token actually expired (if in Testing mode, see the pinned thread on the 7-day limit)
  2. Scope mismatch - Jarvis now requests gmail.modify to apply labels to processed emails. If your original connection was older, you granted gmail.readonly, and the new scope isn't being picked up on reconnect

Fix for #2: go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, find DeskClone AI / Jarvis, click Remove Access. Then reconnect in Jarvis. This forces Google to re-prompt for the full scope list instead of silently reusing the old token.
